1. Definitions
Throughout these Terms and Conditions, the following definitions apply:
- "Company," "We," "Us," or "Our" refers to Dawnshift, operating from 23 Church Street, #12-04, Singapore 049481
- "Renter," "You," or "Your" refers to the individual or entity entering into a rental agreement with Dawnshift
- "Vehicle" refers to any motor vehicle provided by Dawnshift under a rental agreement
- "Rental Period" refers to the time between vehicle pickup and return as specified in the rental agreement
- "Agreement" refers to the rental contract executed between Dawnshift and the Renter, incorporating these Terms and Conditions
- "Services" refers to vehicle rental services and supplementary offerings provided by Dawnshift
2. Acceptance of Terms
By booking, accessing, or using our rental services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, along with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use our services.
These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Dawnshift. Your execution of a rental agreement or payment for services signifies your acceptance of these terms.
3. Eligibility Requirements
To rent a vehicle from Dawnshift, you must meet the following requirements:
- Be at least 21 years of age (25 years for certain vehicle categories)
- Hold a valid Singapore driving licence or recognized international driving permit
- Have held your driving licence for a minimum of two years (three years for premium categories)
- Provide a valid credit card in your name for security deposit processing
- Present valid identification (NRIC, passport, or government-issued ID)
- Have no history of major traffic violations or licence suspensions in the past three years
- Pass our driver verification and insurance eligibility assessment
We reserve the right to decline rental requests from individuals who do not meet these requirements or whose driving record indicates elevated risk.
4. Booking and Reservation
4.1 Booking Process
Rental bookings can be made through phone contact with our coordination team or via email inquiry. Bookings are confirmed upon receipt of required documentation and security deposit authorization.
4.2 Availability
Vehicle availability is subject to fleet capacity and existing rental commitments. We make reasonable efforts to allocate specific vehicle models as requested but reserve the right to provide comparable alternatives if the originally selected vehicle becomes unavailable due to maintenance requirements or unforeseen circumstances.
4.3 Modification and Cancellation
Booking modifications requested more than 24 hours before pickup are accommodated without charge when alternative vehicles are available. Cancellations made:
- More than 48 hours before pickup: Full refund of any pre-payment
- 24-48 hours before pickup: 50% cancellation fee applied
- Less than 24 hours before pickup: Full rental charge applies
Distinguished Arrival Fleet bookings require 72 hours notice for cancellation to avoid full charge due to chauffeur scheduling commitments.
5. Rental Rates and Payment
5.1 Pricing Structure
Rental rates are quoted in Singapore Dollars (SGD) and include:
- Base rental fee for specified duration
- Comprehensive insurance coverage
- Specified mileage allowance
- Service-specific supplementary items as detailed in service descriptions
5.2 Additional Charges
The following charges apply separately:
- Mileage beyond allowance: SGD 0.80 per kilometer
- ERP charges, parking fees, and traffic fines incurred during rental
- Fuel costs if vehicle is not returned with full tank (charged at SGD 3.50/liter plus SGD 30 refueling service fee)
- Late return fee: SGD 100 per hour beyond scheduled return time
- Cleaning fee for excessive interior soiling: SGD 150-300 depending on severity
- Damage repair costs beyond insurance coverage
5.3 Payment Terms
Payment is required via credit card. A security deposit of SGD 1,500-3,000 (depending on vehicle category) is authorized at booking and held throughout the rental period. The deposit is released within 7-14 business days after vehicle return, pending resolution of any additional charges.
Corporate account holders may qualify for monthly billing arrangements subject to credit approval and minimum usage requirements.
6. Vehicle Use and Restrictions
6.1 Permitted Use
Vehicles may be used for personal or business transportation within Singapore. All driving must comply with Singapore traffic laws and regulations.
6.2 Prohibited Activities
The following are strictly prohibited and constitute breach of agreement:
- Driving while under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances
- Using the vehicle for racing, timed trials, or driver training purposes
- Transporting hazardous materials or illegal substances
- Allowing unauthorized drivers to operate the vehicle
- Smoking in the vehicle (SGD 500 fee applies for odor removal)
- Transporting pets (unless pre-approved for specific vehicles)
- Towing or pushing other vehicles
- Off-road driving or operating on unsuitable surfaces
- Removing the vehicle from Singapore without written permission
7. Insurance Coverage
7.1 Standard Coverage
All rentals include comprehensive insurance providing:
- Third-party liability coverage up to SGD 10 million
- Collision damage coverage with excess of SGD 3,000-5,000 (depending on vehicle category)
- Theft protection with excess of SGD 5,000
- Fire and natural disaster coverage
7.2 Excess Liability
You remain responsible for the excess amount specified in the rental agreement in the event of damage or theft. This excess is payable before the vehicle is released from repair or replacement.
7.3 Coverage Exclusions
Insurance does not cover:
- Damage caused by prohibited activities or violation of rental terms
- Interior damage including upholstery, dashboard, or electronic components
- Tyre and rim damage from improper use
- Underbody damage from driving on unsuitable surfaces
- Loss or damage of personal belongings left in the vehicle
- Indirect costs such as loss of income or alternative transportation expenses
8. Renter Responsibilities
As the renter, you agree to:
- Inspect the vehicle at pickup and report any pre-existing damage immediately
- Maintain proper fluid levels and ensure the vehicle is not operated in mechanically unsafe condition
- Secure the vehicle when unattended and keep all keys in your possession
- Report accidents or mechanical problems to us immediately
- Pay all parking tickets, traffic fines, and toll charges incurred during rental
- Return the vehicle at the scheduled time and location with the same fuel level as pickup
- Clean the vehicle interior to a reasonable standard before return
- Not modify, repair, or alter the vehicle without our written authorization
9. Accidents and Breakdowns
9.1 Accident Protocol
In the event of an accident, you must:
- Ensure safety of all parties and contact emergency services if needed

- Obtain other driver's information and insurance details
- Document the scene with photographs if safe to do so
- File a police report if required by Singapore law
- Do not admit fault or make statements to third parties without our authorization
- Complete our accident report form within 24 hours
9.2 Mechanical Issues
For mechanical breakdowns or vehicle malfunctions, contact our 24-hour assistance line immediately. We will arrange roadside assistance or provide a replacement vehicle as circumstances warrant. You are not responsible for mechanical issues arising from normal operation.
10. Liability Limitations
10.1 Company Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Singapore law, Dawnshift's liability for any claims arising from your rental is limited to the amount paid for the rental service. We are not liable for:
- Indirect, consequential, or incidental damages
- Loss of income, business opportunities, or profits
- Personal injury or property damage resulting from your operation of the vehicle
- Delays, cancellations, or service interruptions beyond our reasonable control
- Damage to personal belongings stored in or transported by the vehicle
10.2 Renter Liability
You are liable for all damage to the vehicle, third-party property, or injuries caused by your negligence or violation of rental terms. This includes full repair costs, loss of rental income during repair period, and diminished vehicle value if applicable.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Dawnshift, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the vehicle, violation of rental terms, or breach of applicable laws.
12. Termination
We may terminate the rental agreement immediately and repossess the vehicle without notice if:
- You violate any material term of the rental agreement
- The vehicle is used for prohibited purposes
- You provide false information during booking or driver verification
- The vehicle is abandoned or not returned as scheduled
- You become subject to legal proceedings that could affect our property rights
Termination does not relieve you of payment obligations or liability for damage that occurred before termination.
13. Dispute Resolution
13.1 Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore. Any disputes arising from these terms or your rental will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Singapore courts.
13.2 Informal Resolution
Before pursuing formal legal action, we encourage parties to attempt resolution through direct negotiation. Contact us at legal@dawnshiftas to initiate dispute discussion.
13.3 Mediation
If informal resolution is unsuccessful, disputes may be referred to mediation through the Singapore Mediation Centre before court proceedings are initiated.
14. General Provisions
14.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms and Conditions, together with the executed rental agreement and our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Dawnshift regarding rental services. They supersede all prior agreements, representations, or understandings.
14.2 Severability
If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
14.3 Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision. Any waiver must be in writing and signed by an authorized representative.
14.4 Assignment
You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these terms without our written consent. We may assign these terms to a successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
14.5 Notice
All notices under these terms must be in writing and delivered to the addresses specified in the rental agreement or to legal@dawnshiftas.
15. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes become effective immediately upon posting to our website. Modifications do not affect existing rental agreements executed before the change date.
For new bookings, the terms in effect at the time of booking govern that rental relationship. We recommend reviewing these terms before each rental to ensure understanding of current provisions.
